    The wildlife world stands brightly southwest of the relics park. It boasts of free-range untamed animals in a fine eco-ambience. Nearly 10,000 of various rare and endangered species from all over the world are bred here with great care. This place of interest has been much sought as a splendid venue for animal watching, unbound safari, recreation and zoology education. It is the one and only wildlife park in Jiangsu, China. In 2015, the park established Giant Panda House where two pandas were introduced from Sichuan’s Wolong Reserve—the well-known hometown of this lovely animal.

    Traditional Business Street

    The traditional business street lies in the east of the relic site. It consists of Jianhu Lake, Street of Abundant Bliss, Street of Eternal Bliss and Street of Happy Bliss. The three streets, all leaning against the port, together face a gurgling sapphire river. Naturally, there are architectural pieces like Riverside Pavilion, Waterwall Gate, Land Ferry, Long Riverbank, Stone Bridge and Riverside Veranda set in a picturesque tranquil backdrop. The street is dotted with Yancheng Fine Arts Museum, Theater, Ringing Bell, Yancheng Museum.     Yancheng Chunqiu Paradise

    Yancheng Relics Park

    As revealed by archaeology, the relics park goes back to more than 2,700 years ago. This old town relic site built in the Spring and Autumn Epoch remains the most unscathed of all in China. The tri-city-and-moat structure has no other rival across the planet. The relic site features 850 meters in length, 750 meters in width and 650,000 square meters in coverage. Such giant size comes in tune with the relevant account in Mencius. From the age-old relic, more than 1,000 rarities including 4 canoes, over 20 bronzes and quite a few primitive celadons and potteries have been excavated. In 1988, it was put on the List of State Key Cultural Relics Protection Units. In 2009, the relic site won the UNEP Golden Prize for Sustainable Development Projects.

    淹城野生动物世界简介

    淹城野生动物世界位于淹城遗址区西南侧,以野生动物生态散养为特色,将近万头(只)来自世界各地的珍稀濒危野生动物集中护养、展示,集动物野趣观赏、休闲娱乐、科普教育为一体,是目前江苏省内唯一一家超大规模的野生动物园。2015年,淹城野生动物世界建成熊猫馆,并从卧龙引进两只大熊猫。

    淹城宝林禅寺位于淹城遗址西北约一公里处。宝林寺为齐梁古寺,鼎盛时有殿宇1408间,香火旺盛,蔚为壮观。扩修重建的宝林寺规模宏大,佛学文化底蕴浓厚,以传承观音文化、弘扬佛学精神为主旨,实现佛学与现代旅游事业的紧密结合。淹城宝林禅寺于2015年10月全面建成开放。高91.9米,供奉39.9米高的三面十方观世音菩萨的“宝林观音阁”是整个寺庙的中心和标志建筑。

    淹城传统商业街坊位于淹城遗址保护区东部,由鉴湖和丰乐坊、常乐坊、怡乐坊三条古街组成。三条古街均临港背河,有临河水阁、水墙门、旱踏渡、长驳岸、石河桥、河埠廊坊等建筑,恬静整洁,风景如画。淹城美术馆、戏楼、摇铃钟声、淹城博物馆点缀其中,集中展示了武进文化的历史传承。

    淹城遗址简介

    春秋淹城遗址,考古证实距今已有2700余年历史,是国内保存较完整、形制独特的春秋时期地面城池遗址。遗址东西长850米,南北宽750米,总面积约65万平方米,其“三城三河”独特形制,不仅与《孟子》等文献记载契合。遗址内出土珍贵文物千余件,包括4条独木舟、20余件青铜器和大量原始青瓷器、陶器。1988年,淹城遗址被列为全国重点文物保护单位;2009年,荣获联合国环境可持续发展项目金奖.
