Relic Square, located in the central area of Spring and Autumn Park, connects main areas such as Zhuzi Baijia Garden, Yancheng Relics Park and Amusement Theme Experience Area.
Grand Spring and Autumn Stage in the center of the Relic Square has wonderful performances during major festivals and summer night parks.
Yancheng Relics Park is at the west of the Relic Square with a history of more than 2,700 years. The three ancient cities and rivers have unique shape. It is the most complete and unique ground city site in the Spring and Autumn period found in China.
Amusement Theme Experience Area has more than 30 amusement projects. Large amusement projects combine characteristics of equipment with historical and cultural allusions of the Spring and Autumn period among them, so that tourists may perceive history and touch culture while having such amusement experience.
Classic Project – Sun Wu’s Commander Appointment Stage has flying islands able to rise up to 55 meters and rotate slowly at 360 degrees, where tourists may catch panorama of Yancheng scenic spot from above. Dome screen film Dream back to Spring and Autumn can accommodate 100 tourists at one time. Tourists float at an altitude of 18 meters while watching the film on their seats to enjoy the unique experience of “Time and Space Travel Dreaming back to Spring and Autumn”.
“Five Hegemons” were the states ruled by “Five Lords” between Eastern Zhou Epoch and the Spring and Autumn Period. “On Being the King”, Xunzi recorded, “the five lords are Huan Duke of Qi State, Wen Duke of Jin State, Zhuang King of Chu State, Helü King of Wu State and Goujian King of Yue State.” With the help of modern hi-tech means, Five-Lords Mountain—the first 3D ghost house in East China now uncovers all mystery round itself. The Spring and Autumn Palace has “One Hall and Two Palaces”, namely, Yanjun Hall, Xishi Mystery Palace and Chime Music Palace, covering an area of about 14,500 square meters and focusing on art of royal palaces in the Spring and Autumn period.
Interior of Yanjun Hall is in “Front Hall and Back Palace”, which presents main scenes of court life in the Spring and Autumn period, such as monarch’s handling political affairs, receiving envoys and daily life. Hundreds of cultural relics (replicas) from Shang and Zhou Dynasties to Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, such as bronze sword, tripod and jade belt hook, are displayed in the hall, showing long resplendent Chinese culture.
Xishi Mystery Palace is about indoor theater. Visitors may watch Xishi Mystery Palace themed by love story of Xi Shi and Fan Li, and the Perfection of Righteousness themed by life of Qu Qiubai, one of the “Three Heroes of Changzhou”.
Chime Music Palace displays chime bells (replicas) of Zeng Houyi, a national treasure, and regularly performs chime bell music and dance every day. Visitors may enjoy splendid chime playing and traditional Chinese palace music and dance, including Clog Dance, Feather Dance, and Sleeve Dance.
To the right of the chime-bells palace lies a zigzag bridge bathed in antique beauty. Like a dragon, it sprawls on the Jianhu Lake, connecting the antique chime-bells place and the mouthwatering foodie street. Standing on the bridge, you can see clearly myriad brocaded carps in various colours darting about. These lovely creatures are truly “swimming artworks”. At leisure, all you can bring your family and children for fishing, watching views and carps, enjoying the idyllic scenery and the great happiness of being together here.
